Running a Marathon

I am just starting training for a marathon. I will be running the Park City Marathon in Aug 08. I got this grand idea from Katrine Smith. I was reading her blog and felt really inspired. She is probably finding out by reading this because I didn't actually tell her. I talked to her sister (and my good friend Anna) and found out what book she used and bought it. I am really excited and looking forward to the challenge.

Anyone who wants to run it with me is welcome to join the program. I am starting the actual 16 week training program the week of May 4th. I am in the pre-training part right now. The book is called "The Non-Runner's Marathon Trainer."

I already enlisted my husband and am working on another friend who sounds like she is up for the challenge . I think the bigger support network I can make for myself the better chance I have of accomplishing my goal. So if anyone is interested please let me know.

Hey, that's awesome! Katrine is always looking for someone to run with...she tried to convince me, but obviously I wasn't a good candidate :) Anyway, you probably live too far apart to run regularly, but you could get together for the long runs!
I'm excited for you. What a cool thing to accomplish.

Congrats!!! You are going to just love running a marathon. I am really excited for you. I wish I was going to be here, because I really would love doing the runs with you, but we are moving to MS on the 23rd of April. But I am running the St. George Marathon in Oct. and there is one in MS in November so if you want to join in on either...you are more than welcome! Also, there is a great running specialty store here in Layton, it is called Striders and they have totally high tech equipment to fit you in a great shoe, which you will really need as you start creeping up those miles! Best of luck!
